The programmable keys spare the user a time-consuming search for telephone numbers and tiresome dialling. With an extra Ethernet port, having to connect different leads is also a thing of the past.

Although it doesn't provide Power-over-Ethernet, the snom 190 makes up for this by supporting the Codec G.723.1. And this means compatibility with considerably more components of other manufacturers. With respect to speech quality, the snom 190, even with low bandwidths, therefore achieves a standard that was previously only possible with broadband technology.

The snom 190 addresses demanding business customers using the latest VoIP technology. Equipped with a two line graphical display, it supports alphanumeric caller-ID and a feature-rich user-interface. An extra Ethernet port enables users to "daisy chain" the phone with their PCs without the necessity for an extra LAN socket. For hands-free operation a standard PC headset can be used.

Supporting SIP and H.323/H.450, the snom 190 interoperates with standards-compliant equipment from other vendors. Advanced features like call pickup and parking or automatic call-back are implemented using latest standards. Its programmable keys make it quick and easy to find numbers and initiate calls. The support for sips and SRTP allow voice conversations on a very high security level. The support of various NAT standards allows the operation in all environments where VoIP is possible.
